Powered by a dynamic 64-bit quad-core Arm Cortex-A76 processor with a clock speed of 2.4GHz, the Raspberry Pi 5 outshines its predecessor, Raspberry Pi 4, by delivering a CPU performance boost of 2–3x. Complemented by an advanced 800MHz VideoCore VII GPU, it offers a significant leap in graphics capability. Experience dual 4Kp60 display output over HDMI and superior camera support, thanks to a revamped Raspberry Pi Image Signal Processor. This smooth-operating desktop solution isn’t just ideal for everyday consumers; it unlocks a myriad of possibilities for industrial applications as well.
Marking a milestone, the Raspberry Pi 5 is the first full-sized model to feature in-house built silicon at Raspberry Pi. The innovative RP1 “southbridge” encompasses the majority of the I/O capabilities and introduces a transformative shift in peripheral performance and functionality. Users will benefit from over double the aggregate USB bandwidth, enabling swifter transfers to external UAS drives and high-speed peripherals. The dedicated two-lane 1Gbps MIPI camera and display interfaces of earlier models have evolved into a pair of four-lane 1.5Gbps MIPI transceivers, tripling the total bandwidth and supporting a mix of up to two cameras or displays. SD card performance peaks are doubled with support for the high-speed SDR104 mode, and for the first time, a single-lane PCI Express 2.0 interface is available, facilitating high-bandwidth peripheral connections.
